About Katie

I trained at Queens Road College of art in Bristol for three years, and have set up a little workshop in my garden at home where I make my jewellery.

My jewellery collection has grown out of my love for colour texture and combining different materials. I enjoy browsing through junk shops and car boot sales looking for little bits of ‘treasure’ such as vintage lace, old buttons and china. The idea of ‘preciousness is important to me and I’m especially concerned with taking these little bits of ‘treasure’ and turning them into objects of value and desire.

I like the ‘playfulness’ of childhood images and use pictures from old comics, books scraps of fabric and toys to make jewellery using resin, silver, copper and enamels.
